QUANELL X APOLOGIZES TO JEWS: If everyone would follow his example, their may yet be hope for humans…but… ?

A recent headline in the Houston Chronicle reads that New Black Panther Party leader "Quanell X seeks to make amends" for negative statements made by him about Jewish people. If the contents in the story are correct then The New Majority applauds Mr. X's new found ability in recognizing the inadequacies within his own spirit. It is the hope of The New Majority that the receivers of Mr. X's revelation will follow his noble example. If not, then Mr. X's apology is hollow.

The Chronicle story suggest that Mr. X's "Candide" (read Voltaire) journey concerning Jews began six years ago and culminated with a January visit to the Holocaust Museum Houston.

"He appeared moved by what he saw and much of it for the first time," wrote Chronicle reporter Mike Tolson. "Quanell later expressed sorrow that he would have chosen remarks offensive and threatening to people who endured the horrors of Nazi concentration camps."

According to quotes written by Mr. Tolson, Mr. X said, "I apologize to every Jewish (Holocaust) survivor that may have heard anything I have ever said. How could I say anything in a vile, malicious or repugnant manner to anyone who has been in one of these camps?.…I seek the forgiveness of every survivor who has heard the words I've said."

Once again, Mr. X's obvious heartfelt sorrow about past expressions which he has made about members of another part of the human family should be admired. There is no doubt that the horrors which European Jews experienced under Adolph Hitler and Nazi Germany arguably have no match in the whole of human history when it comes to human cruelty, notwithstanding the evil visited upon persons of African descent during the period of the Euro/American slave trade.

But Mr. X does not owe the Jewish people an apology for anything he has done or said which relates to them if the apology sent is not reciprocal. Therefore, his apology should be to God only. He should seek forgiveness from God only.

In the Chronicle story, Mr. Tolson quotes Martin Cominsky, regional director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

"I'm pleased to hear that Quanell X is working to change himself. WE'VE been concerned about his connection to the New Black Panther Party and to other extremism. WE hope that he will distance himself from groups which have a history of promoting bigotry and hatred. WE'RE pleased that Quanell X has embarked on a journey of change. WE look forward to seeing the results of his efforts," writes Mr. Tolson of Mr. Cominsky.

The New Majority finds Mr. Cominsky's comments insulting and shrouded in a gilded cloak of moral superiority. When he uses words such as WE'VE, WE, and WE'RE, it's almost as though he and the Jewish people (he does represent a Jewish organization) are sitting high atop the "moral throne" on Mount Sinai. Meanwhile, small and insignificant little Moses as represented by Mr. X has his head bowed and comes meekly to Mr. Cominsky where he places a big wet kiss on "king" Cominsky's ring seeking his forgiveness.

Horse radish! (In past writings, I have used two other words which describe the droppings of a male cow at this point, but my college Journalism professor has suggested I be more professional. Oh! What the hell! Bull shit!)

As Paul writes in Romans 3:23 "…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." In other words, Paul is telling us that Europeans, Africans, Asians, Latinos and yes even God's own chosen people have committed sin. A good argument can be made about the numerical amount and severity of sin committed by each group; nevertheless all human groups have proven themselves corruptible.

Persons of African descent living in North and South America and Europe should not expect an apology from European descendants when it comes to slavery unless we include present day West Africans and Arabs in the apology contest. African slavery may not have happened if not for the roles which Africans and Arabs played in the slave trade during the period between the 16th and 19th centuries.

African Americans owe Native Americans an apology for the role that Black (Buffalo) Soldiers played in the almost systematic extermination of an entire people. Black slaves from America who returned to Africa and founded Liberia in the years soon after slavery owe natives in that country an apology for instilling White American Jim Crow like justice to other Black people. Civil wars which have taken place in Liberia in recent years can be traced back to the inhumane treatment of native Africans by the descendants of Black slaves from America

Jewish people cannot "morally" talk about the evils of the Jewish Holocaust without examining the Hebrew leader Joshua in the Torah/Old Testament, who based on his murderous acts alone should be currently sharing a seat next to Hitler in Hell (By the way there is some circumstantial evidence which indicates that Hitler had Jewish roots).

In the 21st chapter of the book of Joshua concerning the taking of the city of Jericho by the Hebrews we read, "They devoted the city to the LORD and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it-men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys."

The killings of animals suggest that on face value alone, Joshua was more evil than Hitler who by all reported accounts was an animal lover. There are several other examples in the Torah/Old Testament where acts of Nazi style Holocaust murders are committed by God's chosen people against other groups of humans. The dispute by many Jewish scholars in defense of Joshua is that he was merely following God's orders and that his killings were far fewer than Hitler's. They also argue that to compare the works of Joshua which took place over 3,000 years ago with those of the Nazis which happened less than 70 years ago is disingenuous.

If that dim-witted argument is to be granted then Homer's works are disingenuous! Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle are disingenuous! The wisdom of Solomon is disingenuous! Jesus Christ is disingenuous!

The belief here is that the pain felt by a Canaanite mother who saw one of Joshua's soldiers bash in the head of her new born son against a stone building three millennia ago is no different than the pain currently felt by a still living Jewish mother who witnessed a German soldier murder her new born daughter with the butt of his rifle. And let's not forget that like Joshua, Hitler believed that he too was following the will of God in his actions against Jews.

Recent history suggests that those who think they are doing God's will, commit the most sinister of crimes. Most modern humans call these people terrorist. To not place Joshua and other Old Testament/Torah types in the same category is DISINGENUOUS!

It is the opinion of The New Majority that Mr. X has demonstrated HIS moral SUPERIORTY in comparison to most humans by observing the mote in his own eye. Now, let's see if Mr. Cominsky and other Jewish leaders will be man (woman) enough to admit Jewish participation during the African slave trade. Does Mr. Cominsky place the terror committed by Jews in Palestine before the 1948 founding of Israel in the same light as current day terrorism committed by Islamic extremist? I have never seen evidence from the ADL where it condemned Israel's military support of South Africa during Apartheid. Is the ADL currently voicing its displeasure against the rampant racism taking place in Israel against Jews of Ethiopian and Middle Eastern descent by Jews of European descent? Has the ADL taken a stance against Harris County District Attorney Chuck Rosenthal?

The point is that all human groups have shared a most ignominious feast at the table with our stepfather the devil at one time or another (some more than others, but all nevertheless). Whether we are Jew, Gentile, Muslim or Christian, recognition or absolution of human sin by other humans is worthless, unless all partake in its soothing qualities.

Therefore, legitimate forgiveness will continue to be the domain of God. And no human is qualified to enter this realm whether they think they are chosen or not.
